We believe the Bible authorizes men known as shepherds, overseers or elders (among other names), to be leaders of individual congregations. Jefferson Avenue served by seven godly men who oversee the congregation. They are Doug Fowler, Glenn Binkley, Bobby Lane, John Rhodes, Don Foy, John Mason and Jann Cupp.

In the early church, the office of deacon was instituted to relieve the apostles from administrative duties and free them to preach and teach the Gospel. Modern day deacons do the same thing, serving both the congregation and community in various capacities.
